A few days away in Brighton

After returning to work after my summer holiday I had a serious case of the holiday blues!

I was questioning my current role in my career and life plan all together.Just being a miserable B****

So I booked myself and my mum a couple of days in away to Brighton ๐Ÿ˜Š

60 miles from the hustle of the city and away from daily realities.

Theirs  something about the sound of the sea and the seagulls that is so calming.

We stayed in the Amsterdam hotel which with a sea view and balcony over looking the pier was the best view to wake up too.

Just spending my time with my mum walking around the uniquely beautiful lanes and exploring all the hidden treasures that Brighton offers.Discovering coffee shops with yummy treats.

Of course eating fish and chips and drinking jugs of pimms on the pier in the sunshine is optional and weather permitting ๐Ÿ˜‚ I highly recommend!!

I could have spent hours sipping my coffee on the beach looking out to the sea thinking about life and what makes me happy.

"Brighton really did brighten my spirits" Sometimes a few days spent using social media to a minimum is also great,if maybe your feeling in a bit of a funk like me or as I have described as my "quarter life crisis "

But now I guess back to reality and at least I'll be going back with a smile on my face and memories of a lovely few days ๐Ÿ˜˜

Until next time .......

Disneyland Paris at 20

Experiencing Disney land Paris as an adult has always been on my bucket list.I went to Disney as a child and wanted to relive the magical fairly land.

Earlier on this year, after much persuasion me and my sister headed of on the Eurostar and headed to Disney land.

On this day it was -3 degrees, you'd never have guessed as the whole trip, the castle was lit up by sunlight. It really is magical!

Some people have the theory that Disney is only for kids.Personally I think they're just being boring and don't have an imagination!

But as Walt Disney said "Adults are only grown up kids anyway".

The feeling of walking into the park and seeing the castle is magical.

There's something so overwhelming about being able to walk around carefree wearing sparkly Minnie Mouse  ears no matter what age.

I found my self with a constant smile on my face and feeling so fulfilled.

It's probably one of the only places on earth where you can sing, dance and skip around without a concern in the world.

The only bad thing about my trip was that 3 days wasn't enough and now I want to be Peter Pan and never grow up.

Being somewhere so happy and truly magical, puts everything into perspective and has given me the travel bug, I already had even more.

Wanderlust / a deep urge to travel

If Disneyland Paris is on your bucket list I highly suggest booking a trip to have the most memorable happiest time of your life!

Who wants to come to Never Land with me ?

What's on your bucket list ?

8 of my favourite things to watch on Netflix

I could pretend that I never watch TV and that I spend my time exercising and reading books. However that would be a little bit untrue. We all know secretly that when we say just one more episode we really mean one more series!

I love watching movies and TV series's,as it's a way for you to escape your typical life, and relax. For your mind to focus on something different, whether it be romance or fantasy.

This post is to share with you a few Netflix recommendations :

1. Riverdale / This is new to Netflix with 7 episodes and more being released every/other friday.Riverdale is about four teens and their lives after the death of a fellow student, as they try to find out what's actually happened to Jason.

2.Orphan Black / Is a 4 season series focused on Sarah who starts of with witnessing a stranger commit suicide, however the stranger looks extremely similar to herself.Sarah is actually a clone and the episodes discover a whole new mystery and life for Sarah.

3.Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt / kimmy goes to New York after being held hostage by a cult leader. Its so light hearted and really does have you laughing out loud.

4.The Duff/ About a high schooler who realises she's the designated ugly fat friend in her clique, she asks for help from her neighbour jock friend. The perfect romcom.

5.Haters back off/ A series about Miranda sings and her dream to become a singer.I don't actually watch Miranda sings on YouTube as the content isn't my typical interest, however I really enjoyed watching haters back off, it was extremely funny.

6.Stranger things/About a group of young boys and Wills discovery.A sci fi fantasy sort of series.I can see a lot of genres enjoying this series.

7.I boy/Shards of a cell phone get lodged into a teenagers brain,he discovers a special Power and uses it to get revenge.

8.Radio rebel / When a student has a secret identity, she is a school dj who helps others popular and unpopular.

That's a few of my Netflix's favourites let me know if you'd like to see a part 2!

Terrys Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

Who doesn't love Terry's chocolate orange ?
Who doesn't love cupcakes ?
Well you love both that's why your reading this post right this second.

Recipe adapted from http://www.janespatisserie.com

Ingredients :

175g butter
175g caster sugar
175g self raising flour
4 eggs
1 tspn vanilla
3 tbspn cocoa powder (optional)

Icing :

500g icing sugar
250g stork (margarine)
20 pieces Terry's chocolate orange (melted)

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 160 fan.Line a baking tray with your cupcake cases of your choice.
2. Mix your stork and sugar together.I use a stand mixer and whisk for a few minutes, until combined.
3. Add the rest of your ingredients (egg, self raising flour, vanilla, cocoa owder). Mix for 5 minutes and until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Spoon your cake batter into the cases and place in the oven for 15-35 minutes.Keep an eye on the cakes as you don't want them burning.(That would ruin your day)
5.Whilst your cakes are cooling you can make the icing.Mix the stork with the icing sugar and add in the melted chocolate gradually.Continue to whisk so the buttercream gets thick and fluffy.
6.Using a piping bag and a star nozzle pipe the icing onto the cupcake and finish of with a segment of the orange and some edible glitter to give it the wow factor.
7.Make yourself a cup of tea or hot chocolate if your feeling  like a chocoholic and enjoy your yummy creation. You could share with your friends or keep them all to yourself.

Happiness

Balloon, Hot Air, Landscape, Hot Air Balloon, Sky

The purpose of this post is to share with you some tips I found useful when I found myself stuck in an obnoxious mind.I'll try my best to make as much sense as possible.

It's incredibly important to be happy. Not only in your life or others, but its vital to be OK with who you are!
I'm not the person who necessarily believes in "everything happens for a reason".I also am not one to go by clichรฉ-cheesy quotes or mantras. But each to their own.

Each and every one of us,even those who are astonishingly positive and optimistic, have bad days and periods in our lives where we feel a bunch of obnoxious emotions.Sadly there all apart of life.

In my experience feeling like you don't have a purpose is the worst. Some say "life is short" and it is in the sense that you should make memories and have fun as you don't know what can happen tomorrow. On the other hand life isn't short, for most of us and we could be here until were 100.

TIP UNO - Don't compare yourself to others! social media is the big cause of confident issues, were all individuals and different in many ways and your great being who you are!

TIP DOS-  Surround yourself with the right people.Who you hang around with is more important than you think. We're creatures of habit and don't like change so changing your friendship group might seem terrifying. Positive energy is contagious so try and be around people who love you for you and you enjoy being around.

TIP TRES- Routine-Having a purpose to get up and do things! This may be harder if your un-employed or if you work from home, but try to compose some sort of routine in your day so that you feel you have a purpose and stay sane.Otherwise you'll get up at noon daily and slump around all day which will lead to you being extremely unhappy and even isolated.

TIP CUATRO- Music - listening to music is a big factor of my life and just listening to my favourite song or shuffling on spotify can immediately change my mood.listen to your favourite artist or why not throwback to songs you used to love and have good memories of.

Eliza doolittle -Walking on water

Flume-Never be like you

TIP CINCO-Leave your house- Even if you don'tt have plans,Just go on a walk or take yourself to your favourite coffee shop.Staying in the same environment daily isn't good for your brain as your mind will get bored.

TIP SEIS-YouTube - watching you tube gets my mind of things and there's billions of videos you can watch.TheDailyDubs my go to youtuber is ayydubs. she has an amazing personality and it really is contagious I just want to be besties with her.Shame she doesn't even know I exist! (cry face)

If you found this post helpful in even the slightest way please leave a comment or tweet me carlaslifex
letting me know if you'd like any more tips.

TIP SIETE- Learn to love yourself - This is a whole new topic and  post itself, but try to accept yourself for you and you'll feel 1000 % better.
