December favourites

                           

First of all I hope you all had a lovely christmas Spent with those who are precious to your heart. Secondly can you believe we are now in 2015 !

1.Queen of ...ta-da - I first saw this shaving gel when I was picking up my basics in superdrug and I'd never seen this product before,so thought I'd give it a go.Us girls will do  anything to have 'sensually smooth skin' as stated on the bottle.

The shave gel is lightly fragranced with a piña colada twist and has a natural moisturise and leaves your legs silky soft,smooth and totally smooch-able.

This was the only product avaliable but they have a website queenofsmooth.com where they have a range of shaving gels and razors.

2. Barry m angled eye brow brush - eyebrows are an essential part to my makeup routine and I love a good strong brow so I use a mac shadow to fill mine in and brow drama to set my brows and my ruby and Millie brush was getting a bit worn so I tried a new Barry m one 

The brush is longer so it helps you create more accurate movements and the tip is super helpful to shape your brows.

3.maybelline colour drama - intense velvet lip pencil in 210 keep it classy.This lip crayon is the perfect autumn/winter shade and it's super easy to apply and is long lasting. 

4. Maybelline colour tattoo 24hr -gel cream eyeshadow in 35 on and on bronze

 

This eyeshadow is perfect just to wear on its own and with a primer underneath will last all day.Theres a  great amount of shimmer and maybellline are doing great this year !

5. Ink wear - some ink for the weekend, there an online website and there slogan is 'because fashion is tempory' which I adore.There are lots of packs to choose from and they last 1-2 days depending on the area but they look real I've had some friends fooled.

Pretzel hugs

                                

      

Ingredients :

Pretzels 

Hershey's kisses

M&ms 

Equipment :

Baking tray

Grease proof paper

Oven

                         

Steps:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.line a cooking tray with grease proof paper

Place pretzels onto tray and top each one with a Hershey's kiss (small pretzels will give you a better result however I wasn't able to find any )

Bake in the oven for 3-4 minutes and the chocolate still hold their shape.

Remove from the oven and place an m&m on top of the pretzel and place in refrigerated for 5 minutes 

Enjoy your pretzel hug

Tea Advent Calendar

                                

I love tea and having it in a super cute mug makes it even better !

Even thought I'm 18 I still like to have an advent calendar but unfortunately this year I forgot to get one :( 

Don't panic whilst I was in tkmaxx I discovered something amazing .......

English tea company have a tea one !!!

It works the same way as any advent calendar, but you have a tea bag instead of chocolate.Each day in decemner until the 25th you get a new christmas tea bag.

I'm so excited as their is  13 different flavours :happy holidays , candy cane and sleigh ride etc 

I've never seen anything like it before and thought it was different, it was £5.99 and a great way to experiment with holidays teas and get into the christmas spirit !

November Favourites

                            

I know I'm certainly not the first to say this ..... But I'll say it anyway ....... I can't believe we're in DECEMBER !!

2014 is flying by and we will  soon be into a new year !!!

The last two months of the year are my favourite as I turned 18 in November and well Hello christmas :)

Seeing as November was my birthday month,I have a few new additions that I would love to you share with you ;)

1. Girl online book by Zoe sugg aka Zoella -

I read this book within two days of buying it,its honestly one of the best books I've read and I do love a good book.The story is exactly what I like to read in a book and I can't wait for the future of girl online!

2. Michael Kors watch -

I have wanted a mk watch for a long time but I've  never been able to decide which one I wanted! So for my birthday from my parents I got a Rose gold mk watch and it's just beautifull and I can't stop wearing it aha !

3. Michael Kors perfume -

Michael Kors is a great quality brand and I do have quite a collection and the sexy amber perfume is so ..... Sexy ... But really ! It's gorgeous even down to the bottle.

4. Laura mercier foundation primer -

Primer is a must for me due to having oily skin.The Laura mercier primer  is my new favourite.The formula is like a moisturiser and it does help my makeup last all day.

5. Body  shop hand cream -

Vanilla brûlée is a new collection from body shop and hand cream is another winter handbag essential for me.its  perfect pocket size and it leaves your hands soft and seasonal  smelling.

Gingerbread Latte

                                 

Do you love Starbucks ? Have you ever wanted to make your own gingerbread latte ?

A yummy recepie with all the taste at half the  price 

Ingredients :

For gingerbread syrup -

* 2 cups water

*1 cup granulated sugar 

*2 teaspoons ground ginger 

*1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

*1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 

For the latte -

*1/2 cup milk

*1 teaspoon coffee

*whipped cream 

*3-4 teaspoons gingerbread syrup 

Instructions :

For syrup -

1.combine sugar,ginger and cinnamon with the water in a saucepan and bring to boil for 15 minutes whisking frequently.

2. Once cooled store in Tupperware 

For gingerbread latte -

1.pour milk into your mug and add in the syrup and top with whipped cream

2.enjoy your yummy gingerbread latte for little cost

Zoella Beauty

                            

Zoe sugg known as zoella launched a beauty collection a few months ago which features bath and body  products and is primarily about pampering and delicious scents.

The range consists of a blissfully body mist,soak opera bath and body cream.creamy madly dreamy body lotion,fizz bar and super cute lets glow candle as well as two makeup bags.

The packaging is so pretty and each product has Zoe's beautifully written logo.

The Same fragrance continues through the collection and I thinks it's lovely - very fruity and sweet.

It's clear that Zoe has had control over the collection from the smells,packaging design and products she wanted.

I purchased three items from the range - fizz bar,soak opera bath and body cream and let's glow candle.

I am happy with all of my products and they are such a reasonable price and if you enjoy pampering and relaxing I suggest you go and check them out !

October Favourites

          

I can't believe how quick 2014 is going ! We're in November already which means next month is christmas ...... 

October hasn't been the best month for me personally with some upsetting occasions.However I did rekindle with some of my favourites.

1. Pumpkin Spice Latte - 

Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes make my fall,they are my favourite hot drink of all time.They have brought out their holiday drinks and I'm also a fan of the gingerbread latte.

2. Cream eyeshadow -

At the moment I am in love with cream eyeshadow.They are  so easy to apply and seem to last longer than powder eyeshadow for me.Do you know of any nice cream shadows ? Let me know as I'm looking for more !

3. Flannel Shirts -

In the fall I love layering up my outfits and a shirt over the top of a regular t-shirt is my fav everyday outfit.New look have got a great range of checkered flannel shirts.

4. Pumpkin candle -

Candles are a must in the autumn/winter and im obsessed with pumpkin scents, at the moment I have two from TK MAXX and  yummm......I could eat them ..... But I won't! 

5. Bourjois nail polish remover -

I've heard a lot of  talk about this product ,I only recently purchased it this month. Bourjois magic nail polish remover really is magic. It's so easy to use you just put your finger in the pot and twist you finger and wolah the nail varnish has gone. 

There great for if you make a mistake and need to remove polish from one nail without accindently removing all 

6. Grey throw - 

This is a slightly random favourite however this primark throw will change your nights. Your cosy movie nights in will be perfect.

I keep mine on my bed and it's just oh so soft so I deffo recommend a good comfy throw for the winter.

Relaxing Products Collection

 

Hi I'm Jenny May from the blog Origin Of Style :) I am delighted to do a guest post on Carlas life. This post is a collection of the items I use to relax:

               

I got this candle from Homebase and it was only £4. The burning time is 120 hours which is amazing value! It smells amazing and reminds me of Christmas which is obviously a bonus! 

                 

Lavender scented spray one of my favourite relaxing products! As you can see I have one from boots that I have had for a while but don't use as much any more. But for my birthday I got 'Ragdale Hall' pillow mist from Marks and Spencer which is great. It comes out in a very fine mist and the scent stays in your room for a long time and would definitely recommend it.

       

Finally I have a matching product to the spray which is the Temple Balm. This is definitely my favourite of all of them. The packaging is so cute and the balm itself is easy to apply to the temples. The lavender oil scent is very strong and honestly is so relaxing at night!

W7 Review

We're always on the look out for bargain makeup but we always consider surely it won't work as well as it's so cheap ?

There are a few high street brands out there that I love but we really need to discover more.
I had heard a little about the  brand w7, So I was excited when they kindly sent be some of theirs product to review !

        

     

          

The brand w7 has actually been around for many years and all of there products are £5 or less.

Lips :

 

Butter kiss lipstick - I liked the lipsticks as they were easy to apply and 'butter' implies that they are moisturising which they are indeed. I received the shades 'red light and fabulously fuchsia'and both shades are lovely.

       

However There  personally not colours I would choose as in the autumn I like to wear darker shades or nudes.

If you like pinks then these would be perfect.

Cheek:

A hint if Bali -This is a cheek and lip tint and it's perfect for autumn as it adds a natural blush to your face and it lasts a long time too.

            

Eyes:

Zoom - This is a mascara with 7x more volume and I have been wearing it since I received it. Perfect for bottom lashes as the brush is slightly smaller than my other mascara.

Meeting Zoella

                                   

      

 So last week I had the chance to be involved in something really exciting !

On the 14th October I got to meet the amazing Zoe Sugg,I am still super buzzed from last week.Im so gratefull for getting this opportunity.

As it was an awesome time for me I thought I would write a little post for you all to see :)

The reason I got to do this was because I entered a 'competition ' thing and I was over the moon to have got an email saying id been selected.The event was a secret meet and greet for a brand cast event.

So on Monday 13th October I went to London to collect my wristband which was bright pink ! This was held at Google on St Giles street.

           

                           

The next day was 'the day ' ! I met two friends  and we went together to the event which was held in Battersea park and as it was a secret we all felt very special.

Whist we queued we were giving some popcorn by YouTube team as they are so awesome 

                          

We then went inside and were handed these adorable zoella canvass bags :)

I was so excited along with all the other subscribesrs and then It was my turn and I was greeted by a happy Zoe who gave me a hug and we had a mini chat but I was so excited i can't actually remember what I said :/

We  then had some photos and then it was the next persons turn.from my few minutes with Zoe she seemed so lovely and beautifully I wish we all and longer with zoella.

I had an amazing day and I met some great people and I am so gratefull that I got chosen!

It's a day I will always remember

HOW TO BE HAPPY

  

                           

Your mood can change in an instant,then your whole day will be affected.Whether  you had an argument with your mum or you just got out of the wrong side of bed !

If your having a bad day you can change that :You need to get some positive vibes going.Once you feel good inside you'll change your perspective on everything.

If your feeling down or having a bad day try one of these :

1. Listen  to music - Make  a  playlist on your iPod or spotify that you can go to and don't  be scared to sing along and having a boogie. Taylor swifts 'shakeit off' is a perfect uplifting song warning :you will have the lyrics in your head all day :) 

2. Watch something - your all time favorite movie or a youtuber you like,it can be as silly as you like as long as it makes you laugh.

3. Take a shower or bath - Have a bit of time  out from the world and unwind in a hit bubble bath.For those ten minutes the world doesn't matter YOU DO !

4. Go outside - Doing some light exercise or going for a walk will make a huge difference.Exercise  produces the feel good hormone,your blood will be flowing and your heart pumping and you'll feel good about yourself .Now  we're coming into autumn it's a great time for walks as you can warp up warm and take a stroll though parks watching everything unwind.

                                       

I love this quote because it's honest and completely true.We all have aspirations and dreams that we think are out of our reach,but if we act upon them instead or just dreaming we will be steps closer towards being the Happiest !

5. No social media - Turn  off your  phone and shutdown your laptop,take some time out and stop comparing yourself and life to others as your PERFECT the way you are.

6. Write  down your thoughts - Jot down what's bothering you and how you can improve the situation,this will help to clear your mind.

7. Talk - We all get sucked into social media but you need time for yourself and to spend with your family  and friends.Go out for a coffee and catch up with your friends you can unwind all your troubles away and have a natter.

8. Cuddle  - When  I'm down I love having hugs and my dog is great when I'm sad as he is so cute and soft and just uplifts my mood.As strange  as that sounds it's true  and he makes me feel a little better !

Life really is short and we need to be doing what we love with those we love.

This is harder than it seems but try to be optimistic and your will have a completely different outlook on everything 

Say YES more.If you get invited out but are really not in the mood just go when you'll get theirs you'll problem feel 100% better and proud in yourself for going.

Stop comparing yourself to others -This is extremely had  and something that We're  all Guilty of but if we focus more on our life's and start to appreciate what we've got life will be great.

Vanilla Cupcakes

     

I love baking and i try and do it as often as possible.Cupcakes are my favourite to bake as you can experiment as much as you like and be creative.

I thought I would share with you my Vanilla cupcake recipe and if you want any other flavours feel free to comment !

Ingredients : Makes 12 cupcakes (depending on case size )

      Cake mix :

      170g butter

      170g caster sugar 

       3  medium eggs

      170g self raising flour 

      1 tbsp vanilla extract 

                             

     Buttercream icing :

     700g icing sugar

     300g butter

     1 teaspoon vanilla 

      Edible decorations off your  choice (I used gold glitter and some Dr.Oetker decorations )

        

Method :

1.place butter and sugar into a mixer and then  Gradually add the eggs one at a time 

2.add in the flour and vanilla extract and mix for a few minutes

3.line your cake tin with cases of your choice 

4.fill the cases with cake batter I use a ice cream scoop

5. Place in the oven on 160 fan for 20-25 minutes depending on your oven

6.once the cakes are cooked place on a baking wire to cool

Buttercream icing :

1. Sift the icing sugar into the mixer and add the butter,vanilla extract.whisk for a few minutes and add more ingredients if needed 

2.pipe the icing onto the cake with a piping bag and a nozzle.you can also spread the icing onto the cake do what ever you feel happy with 

3.decorate your cupcake until your hearts content 

4. Now you've got 12 delicious master pieces to share with your friends and family or save all for yourself :)

September Favourites

        

I  can't believe that we're in October already ! Autumn/winter are my Favorite seasons. There's nothing better than having a bubble bath and having a cosy night in in the sofa having a movie jam with blankets and a hot mug of tea.

                             Now back on topic here is what I've been loving in September 

                           

IPad Air -  I plunged and bought myself an iPad Air and I don't  regret it at all ! It's the perfect size for everyday use,binging on Netflix and YouTube so it keeps me happy.

On Netflix I am currency watching pretty little liars 

           

Salted caramel green tea - this twinings tea is tasty and good for you ,an extra bonus.im not a huge fan of green tea but you really can taste the salted caramel.i give it a thumbs up and recommend if you are trying to branch out you tea collection

Dry shampoo - herbal essences clearly naked 0% dry shampoo is from the herbal essence newest collection.me and dry shampoo have a love hate relationship .ive experimented with a few over the years and think I have found the one for me 

Brow drama - I fill my eyebrows in with a mac eyeshadow in brun and I just wanted something extra to hold my brows in place,Maybelline New York sculpting brow mascara does the job and my brows are tame and in place all day 

Aqua boost sorbet -  this is my second tub of the body shop vitamin e sorbet.after the summer and going on holiday my skin was looking a bit dry after being in the sun all day and my tan is starting to fade:( this product really does do as it says and my skin feels rejuvenated and moisturised. I love every aspect of this product  form the packaging to the smell.so well done body shop your awesome 

                        

Pumpkin spice latte - of course my favourite fall time drink the Starbucks pumpkin latte.it is amazing and super yummy especially with the cream.i have already started drinking it and will continue to do so through out  October

Recent Autumn Buys

As I look out of my window,i can see a gloomy afternoon with the leaves starting to fall of the  trees and the frosty mornings coming our way .......

Autumn is approaching.i cannit wait for the days to draw in and the days get colder.

My house over looks a local park so when I open my curtains every morning I can see the seasons unwinding !

I was in need of some new clothes ,putting away my summer clothes for another day.

So I took a trip to new look and this  is what I got -

Recently I have been obsessing over loose baggy tees I have a couple from H&M and when I saw this  grey leather number in new look for only £9.99 I couldn't resist.i love the gold zip detailing On the back and the leather trim around the collar,it adds a more dressy effect

Checks are all over the catwalk this  seasons and I love wearing blacks,grey and white in the Colder months.this checked shirts was £17.99 and it's so easy to wear where with jeans or around the waist 

 

A good pair of boots are essential and these Chelsea boots with a slight heel will get a lot of use,they will look great with a dress and black tights or tucked in to skinny jeans

These aren't from new look -Schuh £45

But I felt I had to add because they are my go to shoes and I recently bought a black pair and  will go fab with my new tops

New look have some great autumn/winter clothes as well as H&M

KINDLE

Reading is fantastic,you get to zone out of your life for a little while and have your life become a fantasy.You can forget about any troubles you may have and dissolve into a book of your choice.

Since a child I have always enjoyed reading,so last year I decided to buy a Kindle.They are perfect for people who travel a lot.Or people like me who just love to read.There ideal to fit in handbags, without taking up the room a giant 500 pager would.

On my Summer Vacation this year I read 5 books on my kindle.There's nothing worse  for me than finishing your book on Holiday and not having an extra,with a kindle it didn't matter I just used the wifi and downloaded more.

I am going to share with you a list of my favourite books that I have on my kindle

Abbi Glines - I am obsessed with her books and I think I have read  most  of her series.There the perfect girly read and I only wish they were made into films.

OMG as I am writing this Blog Abbi Glines has added to her website the new cover of the last addition to her sea  breeze collection.

If you don't hear from me in a while,I may need help because it means I have been sucked in the 'until the end'.

Lindsey Kelk - These books are great and help you blend into the characters life and the story is so fascinating and unwinding.

*jenny Lopez has a bad week
*what a girl wants 
*i heart Christmas which i haven't read and am saving until December
*jenny Lopez saves Christmas which is int released until the 20th November 2014

looks like I will be busy in December but you never know I  might get to excited and start in November !

John green - Most people know John Green from his major motion picture film that came out this summer I believe. 'the fault in our stars', i read the book before but i still found it amazing and i did shed a few tears

John Green has a great collection of novels but i only have two

*looking for Alaska which i am currently 20% through

i am slowly adding to my John green collection and hope to read paper towns and BTW i have heard that Cara delevingne who is unbelievably cool and stunning is going to star in the paper towns movie.

 shes just so effortless and gorgeous and she doesn't even have to try to be  :(

John green is having a fantastic year.

 i've only just realized that most of my books on my kindle are by Abbi Glines.i think its time for me to widen my reading selection and go a little further ....................or not i just read what i like.

i dementedly suggest a Kindle to any one who is hesitating towards one,i wouldn't live without mine now !

TANYA BURR NAIL POLISH

By now I'm sure most of you have heard about Tanya Burrs beauty range : including nail polish and lip glosses.
I  enjoy wearing darker colors in the autumn/winter,my nail polish collection was obviously lacking ! so I decided to buy some more.These were my favourites that I picked out from her collection.

They are both great colors however the peaches & cream isn't really for me,but I just fancied a change.Penguin chic on the other hand I adore and it will probably be my autumn/winter go to polish.

The lid was a little difficult to remove and I found, that the square lid came off and the brush was a little frayed,but was still easy to work with.

The formula is great though,I got an even opaque look with two coats.The nail polish lasted a good 4 days with no top coat before it started to chip.

Overall I am impressed with the Tanya Burr products and will look out for any new additions
